AC Freon Charging & Refill
If your air conditioner is not cooling like it should, it might need refrigerant – commonly called “Freon” or coolant. AC refrigerant is not something like a fuel that gets used up over time. In fact, if your AC is working properly, it should never need more Freon refrigerant. The only time you will need more coolant is if there is a leak in your cooling system.
If the Freon is leaking out slowly over time, it will affect your AC and can be expensive to replace. Having regular air conditioner maintenance services performed is the best way to avoid costly refrigerant leaks. Different ACs take different types of coolant. R-22 is the most common AC refrigerant used in the United States. Air Conditioners older than ten years, typically use R-22 as the coolant. But, recharging the AC refrigerant yourself can result in using the wrong one, which can permanently damage your air conditioning unit. Freon is also toxic, and exposure to it can cause illness to you, your family or your pets.
For professional air conditioning maintenance and repair, including Freon recharging, always trust your AC services to the experts at Friendly Pro Services.
